F.A.Q
1) Can the TA'70/100/THE1492 amplifiers
work in mono?
"Mono" could mean three different scenarios:
1. Feed a signal on the mono input only, thus having the same sound on
both channels, with independent amp final sections and two cabinets.
2. Use of one channel only, leaving the other one unused.
3. Feed a signal on the mono input only, and bridging the two final amp
sections.
In case 1 the answer is yes: the amp is connected just like in stereo
mode, you only use the mono input.
In case 2 the answer is yes, BUT it is mandatory to keep the unused channel
in Stand-by mode and with the output level at zero. When the channel is
in stand-by position a load is not required on the output.
In case 2 the answer is no: because of its construction scheme, these
kind of amps cannot be bridged. An attempt to bridge the channels can
lead to severe damage to the tubes and to the transformers.
2) Can THE MISSING LINK be used as a preamp?
TML only accepts low impedance signals (from preamps, efx processors...),
it isn't designed to handle hi-impedance signals (e.g. from pickups).
3) Does CML3 work on batteries?
CML3 works only in connection to THE MISSING LINK vintage/custom/limited
series ( ser.num .AD0998ML1001 and later) from which it is powered.
