Description and features
MIDILOOP
is a MIDI-controlled audio** signal switcher, for use with preamplifiers,
pedal effects, etc.... MIDILOOP puts your MIDI-less audio equipment under
control, allows bypass and audio signal path changes, thus maximizing
your rig's flexibility.
MIDILOOP
can be used to enable or disable an audio loop (your favourite pedal effect
can be bypassed or enabled in your signal path), or can be used as a MIDI
A/B switcher, to switch between two different amplifiers, for example.
MIDILOOP's own audio circuitry works completely in passive mode, only
with relays and resistors, this ensures that the sound always stays unaffected
from outer factors and free from unwanted colorations.
MIDILOOP
features a SOFT function, which can be set on or off for each memory location,
which uses a 70/100 milliseconds crossfade between the signals to create
a smooth, clickless switching.
Ground lift switches: To eliminate
unwanted noises, two different ground lift switches are provided: a DIGITAL
GND LIFT switch cuts the ground connection between the digital circuits,
power supply and the external box, while the AUDIO GND LIFT switch removes
the ground connection between OUT A and the external box.
MIDILOOP
can be controlled with any device capable of sending MIDI program change
commands, such as foot controllers, sequencers, multieffects, keyboards.
There are 128 memory locations available, MIDI IN and MIDI THRU ports,
and thanks to the 7 pins MIDI connector, phantom power can be used to
power the unit.
See the diagrams below for connections examples.
A REMOTE CONTROL jack is available
for using an external switch; note however that MIDI messages always have
priority on the remote control switch setting. In this way the remote
control can be used to temporarily change the memorized setting, which
will be restored at the next midi program change.
Cascade connection: by means of the
MIDI IN and THRU ports, you can connect many MIDILOOP units one to the
other, in this way you can control 5 or 10 pedal effects, for example,
or two amplifier heads with additional effect loops. See the diagrams
below for connections examples.
**MIDILOOP is designed to work with line level signals only.
Connection examples
1) LOOPER
mode
2)
A/B Switcher mode
3) An
example of a complex connection, using both modes: looper + a/b switch.
