MAGIC EYE

CLASS "A" 10W TUBE HEAD

MAGIC EYE is an all-tube head whose final stage is built around a couple of selected tubes:
1619 military N.O.S. RCA. They are tubes born for military use widely employed in the radio of the second world war. They are devices mechanically much sturdy, whose structure of glass is enclosed in a metallic tube. It’s a matter of tetrodes with direct heating (absence of the electrode cathode) whose filament is realized in thoriated tungsten and its typical power is of 2,5 volt to obtain a faster heating. All these features allows to reach an extremely pure sound. The use of these tubes with direct heating (300B, 2A3, tubes still produced) has a great consideration in the High End sector. The medium life of these tubes is widely longer than the ones utilized in the traditional amplifiers (6L6, EL34, KT88 etc.) Advancetubetech has a great quantity of these tubes in stock and guarantees the replacement in case of damage or non functioning. The pre amplifying function fx-loop and the driver function are made by three tubes 6SL7. The main sound is typically “vintage”, pure, warm, with a strong dynamics and very rich harmonic. The peculiarity of MAGIC EYE consists in a particular device: the magic eye (6AF6-G). Used as tuning indicator or audio level in the radio of the first half of ‘900, is made by a triode with a small tube with cathode rays on green phosphorous. In MAGIC EYE it is utilized to visualize the signal and touch dynamics. The device is placed on the final stage and it is adjusted to indicate the starting area of the saturation level of the end tubes, corresponding to the maximum opening of the beam of light. MAGIC EYE can be utilized as “monochannel” without the aid of a control pedal. With the use of the pedal, the controls of the second GAIN and the second MASTER are activated with the possibility to manage the same ones in independent or “bound” way. (GAIN1, GAIN2, MASTER1, MASTER2 or GAIN1 with MASTER1 and GAIN2 with MASTER2). The power is 10WRMS, class A: power able to easily reach a natural saturation level without necessarily arrive to unbecoming sound pressures. The output LINEOUT permits to interface MAGIC EYE with a line-mixer. MAGIC EYE is endowed of all-tube effects SERIAL/PARALLEL. It is possible to control the SEND and RETURN level, also through the selection of the switch +4/-20 placed on the front panel. SEND management and SERIAL/PARALLEL selection can be controlled by an external remote switch as well.

MAGIC EYE is endowed of a control pedal to select
the various modes of GAIN1/2, MASTER 1/2 and to select FAT mode.
A selector placed on the back of MAGIC EYE permits to choose the mode “LINKED” in order to have the typical configuration, that means TWO CHANNELS with GAIN1 bound to MASTER1 and GAIN2 bound to MASTER2.
